as the sun alifts ahead

as the sun alifts ahead

as the sun alifts ahead
arise another day
dove to dawn lock eyne again
inhale and apricate

for with each sunny rise anew
a gift
another day
of fight and flight and choice of fate
inhale and apricate

below the soldiers stalk and creep
where once the lovers hid to seek
beneath the fallen canopy
they bury the runaway man

rounds ring true through thick and meadow
soles stuck stern in mud and toil

the mists apart
unfurl the seam
the dapples shift

they’re dancing
they’re dancing
they’re dancing

as the sun alifts ahead
arise another day
dove to dawn lock eyne again
inhale and apricate

for with each sunny rise anew
a gift
another day
of fight and flight and choice of fate
inhale and apricate

below a bounty sickly sweet
to coax an all too common keep
it’s in their makeup plain, you see
to bury the runaway man
reach out true through thickened sorrow
souls seek solace in the morrow

the mists apart
unfurl the dream
the dapples shift

they’re dancing
they’re dancing
they’re dancing

just because sunrise brought upon all our yesterdays
doesn’t guarantee that yet again it will the same

just because sunrise brought upon all our yesterdays
doesn’t guarantee that yet again it will the same

oh, my love
my darling
all fire burns this way
and what’s too close for comfort
merely only ours to say

for with this sunny rise anew
for as they carry you
away with dreary
sun-soak dear
for what a lot to lose

(round x3)

as the sun alifts ahead
arise another day
dove to dawn lock eyne again
inhale and apricate

for with each sunny rise anew
a gift
another day
of fight and flight and choice of fate
inhale and apricate
